Denali BrewPub - Talkeetna, AK

Nestled in the historic village of Talkeetna on the Susitna river at the base of Denali (the tallest peak in North America). One of their Two locations in town, the Denali Brewing Company prides themselves on using high quality ingredients to bring creative, flavorful food and beer to our tables.

Known for their great variety of locally brewed beers, ciders, and canned spirits- the Denali Brewing Company is a must visit stop if you're in Talkeetna. While the Brewery + Tasting room offers a wide open indoor space with outdoor benches and woodfire pizzas, the BrewPub has indoor seating along with an expansive outdoor deck perfect for enjoying a sip and snack under the midnight sun.

To kick off the meal, we ordered the Sweet Potato Wedges as an appetizer.

Their Sweet Potato Wedges came out hot and crispy. Seasoned generously, they were packed full of great flavor that worked well with the sides of cool Twisted Ranch served with the dish. One of which offered a nice spicy kick!

While the appetizer was tasty, it was definitely time for some more food to round out the meal. Offering a selection of BBQ classics like brisket plates and smoked chicken, it was a tough choice. However, I ended up going with their Pulled Pork Sando. Served on a sweet brioche bun with a side of pickles, the tender pork shoulder is dressed in a dry rub with house seasoning before it is smoked low and slow. Shredded finely with a splash of house vinegar, they left the saucing up to me! (there is a bottle of BBQ on each table)

The Denali size mountain of pork that came with the sandwich was more than filling after a day of adventure, and tasted great! The meat was not dry, and my bun held together well. I added a splash of BBQ sauce and really enjoyed the sando. All of the sides are A La Carte, and I went with the classic potato salad. It was done really well, and I would absolutely eat here again!

After my meal, I got to enjoy some time by the fireplace on the deck and finish off our beverages. My summertime go-to is their Blueberry Mojito, it deserves it's own fan club. My friend enjoyed their fan favorite Twister Creek IPA. While I didn't save room for dessert this time, I look forward for the chance to come back and try their Stout Brownie.
